Dana Gillespie Advances to the Finals of "Una Voce Per San Marino" with "The Last Polar Bear"

London, February 19, 2024 – Today, San Marino RTV confirmed that British blues singer Dana Gillespie is one of eight "established artists" to have qualified for the finals of "Una Voce Per San Marino", which is San Marino’s format for the selection of its song for Eurovision 2024. Dana will compete with the song "The Last Polar Bear". The Journey of "The Last Polar Bear" The genesis of "The Last Polar Bear" can be traced back to the autumn of 2023 when Casperaki launched a groundbreaking initiative inviting the public to collaborate with its AI chatbots to craft original draft songs for consideration by "Una Voce per San Marino". Out of numerous entries, ten were handpicked and brought to a dedicated songwriting camp in London for further development. This camp, hosted at The Qube studios from January 19-21, brought together a group of promising young talents from Germany and the UK, who were tasked with picking the most promising candidates and evolving them into potential hits. Dana, who had been collaborating with Sieng Van Tran, a tech entrepreneur, on pioneering uses of technology in music, was invited to explore Casperaki at an AI presentation of ten songs at the Temple of Art and Music, a London music venue. There, she discovered "The Last Polar Bear." Moved by its message, Dana was instantly drawn to the song. Shortly afterward, while on tour in Vienna, she refined and recorded her vocals for the song on an iPhone. Her haunting vocals transformed the song into a powerful environmental anthem. This impromptu version, swiftly assembled over a few days, was uploaded to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAxzHr66HhA), where it garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback from global fans. This wave of support ultimately convinced the jury of "Una Voce per San Marino" to select "The Last Polar Bear" for the final stage of the competition. Mathias Strasser, founder and CEO of Casperaki, said, “Ultimately, there can be only one winner, and I want to congratulate Dana for having captivated the hearts and minds of San Marino’s jury. At the same time, I want to give a shout-out to Meg Birch, Nicole Silva, and Marie Wegener, who deserve huge respect for having joined Casperaki on this experiment of fusing AI with human creativity. My team and I are absolutely certain that the world will hear a lot more from these incredibly gifted artists very soon.” About Dana Gillespie Dana Gillespie has been a recording artist since 1964 and just finished making her 74th album. Not only is she a singer, but she is also a prolific songwriter and record producer. She was the original Mary Magdalene in the London stage production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" and has performed in many musicals and films throughout her career. David Bowie wrote "Andy Warhol" for her, and he performed as a backing vocalist on the track for her album. In return, she provided backing vocals on his "Ziggy Stardust" album. Dana is still touring globally with the London Blues Band and the Joachim Paden Trio. Additionally, she was a DJ for a radio station in Vienna, Austria, for eleven years, promoting world music and blues. She has made ten albums in Sanskrit and has an interest in Indian culture. Furthermore, she started and organized the Musique Blues Festival for 20 years. Fun fact: Dana was the British water ski champion for four years in the 1960s, also being a member of the snow ski team. Grimes Embraces AI in Music, Invites Musicians to Clone Her Voice and "Kill Copyright.

Canadian musician Grimes has invited fellow artists to clone her voice using artificial intelligence (AI) for their new songs, offering to split 50% of the royalties on successful tracks. This groundbreaking move comes as the music industry is grappling with AI-generated songs trained on artists' voices, raising questions about copyright law and the future of art.

Last week, Universal Music petitioned streaming services to remove a deep-faked song featuring vocals from Drake and The Weeknd. Universal claimed that AI-generated music violates copyright law. However, this issue has yet to be tested in court, leaving AI-generated art in a legal grey area. The US Copyright Office has ruled that AI art, including music, cannot be copyrighted, but the question remains whether art created by humans with AI elements can be.

Grimes is enthusiastic about open-sourcing art and "killing copyright." She is already working on a program to simulate her voice and may release a capella tracks for fans to use. After her announcement, fans quickly shared links to their own songs featuring Grimes' vocals. The musician is eager to be a "guinea pig" for AI technology in music and has expressed her belief in AI's creative potential.

Despite her enthusiasm, Grimes acknowledges that she may have to take down songs with extremely toxic lyrics, even though she has chosen not to copyright her name and likeness. This raises further questions about the legality of such actions.

Grimes' work has long explored the relationship between humans and machines. Songs like "We Appreciate Power" and "Flesh Without Blood" delve into AI's ethical quandaries. In 2020, she collaborated with Endel to create an AI-generated lullaby for her child with Elon Musk, X Æ A-12.

Grimes' bold stance on AI in music and open-sourcing art may revolutionize the industry. As technology advances, the relationship between artists, AI, and copyright law will continue to evolve, leading to new creative avenues and collaborations like the one suggested by Twitter user Tim S: "How about Dana's songs with Grimes' voice? Or duet?"

像"We Appreciate Power"和"Flesh Without Blood"这样的歌曲深入探讨了AI的道德困境。

What are NFTs?

NFT stands for non-fungible token, which is a type of digital asset that represents ownership of a unique item or piece of content, such as artwork, music, video, or even tweets. Unlike cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ethereum, which are fungible and interchangeable, each NFT is unique and cannot be exchanged for another NFT at a 1:1 ratio.

NFTs are created using blockchain technology, which allows for a secure and transparent record of ownership and provenance. This means that the owner of an NFT can prove that they are the legitimate owner of the digital asset, and that it has not been duplicated or replicated.

NFTs have gained popularity in recent years as a way for artists, musicians, and other creators to monetize their digital creations and establish ownership rights. They are bought and sold on specialized marketplaces, with some NFTs selling for millions of dollars.

How are NFT important to the Future of Music?

NFTs have the potential to revolutionize the music industry in several ways:

Overall, NFTs have the potential to reshape the music industry by providing new revenue streams, enhancing fan engagement, and creating new investment opportunities.

What Are Ordinals?

Ordinals are a new type of non-fungible token (NFT) that are taking the world of Bitcoin by storm. They are digital assets inscribed on a satoshi, which is the lowest denomination of a Bitcoin (BTC). In other words, Ordinals are a way to create unique, one-of-a-kind digital items on the Bitcoin blockchain.

The Inscription process writes or inscribes the data of the content stored into the witness of the Bitcoin transaction, which was introduced in the SegWit upgrade to the Bitcoin network in 2017. This allows for a more secure and private way to create and trade digital assets on the blockchain.

Creating an Ordinal can be a complicated process, as it requires the use of the Command Line (Windows) or Terminal (Mac/Linux) to interact with the Bitcoin blockchain. However, there are now several services available that aim to make the process more user-friendly, such as Gamma, Oridalsbot, Hiro Wallet, and Xverse.

Ordinals are similar to traditional NFTs in that they provide a way to create and trade unique digital assets. However, unlike other NFTs that are built on specialized blockchains, Ordinals are inscribed on the Bitcoin blockchain, which is the world's largest and most secure blockchain.

While Ordinals may be a relatively new concept, Bitcoin developers have been working to bring NFTs to the blockchain for nearly a decade, beginning with Counterparty in 2014, followed by Stacks in 2017. With the recent Taproot upgrade to the Bitcoin network, the development of Ordinals has become possible, allowing users to create and trade unique digital assets in a more secure and private way.

In conclusion, Ordinals are a new and exciting development in the world of Bitcoin and NFTs. As more users and developers begin to explore this technology, we can expect to see new and innovative use cases for Ordinals in the future.

Tam Ordinals will be released in

What Are Meme Coins?

A memecoin is like an experimental new genre in the vast music and art scene that is the world of cryptocurrencies. Born out of the internet's relentless creativity, it starts as a playful riff on a popular meme or an offbeat idea, much like a catchy, surprising tune or a provocative piece of art. Memecoins, like Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, and now PEPE, have struck a chord with the public, thanks to their ability to combine humor, innovation, and community-building, akin to a compelling art movement or an inspiring music festival.

Just like any artwork or song, the true value of a memecoin lies in the interpretation and appreciation of its audience. The community around these digital assets forms a collective rhythm, a shared beat that drives their growth and visibility. This sense of community is not unlike the fans of a band or patrons of an art gallery, who come together to celebrate and support something they find intriguing and enjoyable.
